“Keep Following”
As Christians we are called to follow in Christ’s footsteps. Jesus Himself called us to “follow Him”. He said that as we follow Him, He would use us to reach others for His glory. (Matthew 4:19) This sounds exciting, and it is. Reaching others for Christ, showing His love to everyone we meet.
However, Jesus said there is a caveat to following Him,
If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24
In fact Jesus said the world will hate you because the world hates Me. (John 15:18-19) Even when doing what’s right in God’s eyes, we can experience suffering.
Peter says in this suffering that we may very well experience, we are called to react the way Jesus reacted. Don’t give in to sin, don’t revile, or let deceit or threats come from your mouth. Instead, entrust yourself to God. He is the one who judges righteously. (1 Peter 2:21-23)
