“Wake-Up”

Do you ever read the news and wonder, “is this really the place I call home.” Christian businesses are under attack. Christian Universities are under attack. Government officials say they want to shut these organizations down. Some people are even arrested for praying in the wrong place. It seems there is always a battle going on against believers. Peter does remind us that we are “aliens and strangers” here. (1 Peter 2:11)

But there is another battle raging, and this battle comes from within. Our flesh, as the old hymn says, is “prone to wander”. Peter says that fleshly lust wages war against our soul. From outside forces and from within, the battle is real, and it rages on.

Paul says it’s time to wake up, lay aside the deeds of darkness, and put on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 13:11-14) So that, as we live that excellent life in Christ, those who wish to come against us and slander us will have no grounds to stand on. And in the end, God will be glorified. (1 Peter 2:12)
