“But for You…”
God has great promises for those who fear Him, those who call upon the name of the Lord. Solomon said, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10) Fear God…know Jesus Christ.
Those who do not fear God, those who reject His Son, God has a promise for them as well. They will be cut off. Jesus said,
…he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:18
But for you…God’s desire is for His people to be a people of rejoicing and gladness. Nehemiah said,
Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10
Whatever comes our way in life, we can still rejoice in the promises of God. We will be able to say, as the old hymn writer Horatio Spafford said, “It is well with my soul.”
