A note from your Pastor
I would like all of you here at Lewisville Bible church to know how blessed I am to be a part of this amazing family. I would also like you to better understand my heart for each of you.
I am committed to praying for each of you, regularly and faithfully. While I will and do pray for your physical needs, my prayer focus will be more about your spiritual needs. As Paul said (my paraphrase) in Colossians 1:9-15,
I pray that you will be crammed full of the knowledge of God, His character, and His desires.
(That which is pleasing to Him.) God has done His part in making it possible to be filled with this knowledge. He has given us His Spirit to dwell within us and to lead us and guide us into Truth. (His word is Truth.) God has also given us His word and in His word, He has revealed His character and His desires.
Truly the issue is are you/we willing to do our part? Are you willing to open His word and to actively seek out what His word reveals about ‘the things God desires’, or said another way, ‘The things which are pleasing to Him.’
Let me start you off on this amazing journey:
1 Samuel 15:22-23- God desires our obedience.
Micah 6:8- God desires that we live lives characterized by justice; God desires that we learn to love showing mercy; God desires that we walk with Him in fellowship and humility.
Hebrews 13:15-16- God desires that we give to Him the sacrifices of Praise, of thanksgiving, and of fellowship with other believers.
There is so much more! I would love to see you take up this challenge to seek out what God desires. Ask God to help you as you read and study His word – make a list – and then perhaps even share it with me. May God richly bless you my friends.
