With March being our Missions Month here at LBC, I thought it would be fitting to take a brief look at 1 Peter 2:9.
But you are a Chosen Race, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a people for God’s own possession. (So) That you may PROCLAIM the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!
Look back and notice all God has done for you, and then take a moment to reflect upon what He desires you to do for Him which results in doing something which is in the best interests of all those around us. God desires that we be His ambassadors. As His ambassadors we are to both reflect His desires but we are also to communicate His desires. One of which is for all men to come to Him (2 Peter 3:9). To be God’s ambassador, we do not have to have all of the answers to all of the questions (praise God for that would eliminate me), we just need to be willing to share about the Love of Jesus towards ME. Think about the demoniac who was released from his bondage – and then had at most a few hours sitting at the feet of Jesus Learning who his Savior was and how Great the love of Jesus was for him. This man was then sent out by Jesus to be a missionary to his own people. Jesus didn’t’ expect him to have a complete and thorough understanding of the bible or of doctrine but Jesus did desire that he share his story with the people of his own community! (Luke 8:26-39)
My friends, we ARE Ambassadors of the King! The only question remaining is: “How are we doing representing our King?”
